Job Description
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for leading and managing all human resource functions within the transportation company. The role ensures the attraction, development, and retention of a skilled workforce while maintaining full compliance with labor laws, transport regulations, and health and safety standards. The HR Manager partners with senior management to align HR strategies with operational and business objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee all HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, training, and employee relations
- Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with company goals and transportation industry requirements
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, transport regulations, occupational health and safety standards, and internal policies
- Manage recruitment of drivers, mechanics, fleet supervisors, operations staff, and support functions
- Oversee employee relations, disciplinary actions, grievances, and dispute resolution in line with legal requirements
- Ensure accurate maintenance of employee records, contracts, licenses, certifications, and statutory documentation
- Drive training and development initiatives, including driver safety, compliance, leadership development, and skills enhancement
- Lead performance appraisal processes and support department heads with talent development and succession planning
- Oversee payroll inputs, leave administration, attendance, and shift management coordination
- Promote a strong safety, compliance, and performance-driven culture across the organization
- Provide HR reports, workforce analytics, and strategic advice to senior management
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- Master’s degree or professional HR certification is an added advantage
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in transportation, logistics, or operations-driven industries
- In-depth knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism
