Job Summary;
Our Client, a Non-profit Organization, is searching for a qualified Communications and Knowledge Manager to oversee internal and external communications
and knowledge management strategies and to strengthen communication and knowledge-sharing
within the organization and to advocate and demonstrate the organization’s value and
impact in the field and among stakeholders.
Responsibilities;
- Develop and update a communications and knowledge management strategy
based on organization’s strategic plan. The strategy will include an implementation
plan with measurable outcomes.
- Maintain a communications calendar with key events, dates, and deadlines throughout
the year for all projects and events.
- Identify print, electronic, and in-person vehicles to communicate with key audiences
and increase the organization's brand awareness and partnership opportunities.
- Conduct regular evaluations of communications and knowledge management
outcomes, and adjust the strategy as needed.
- Collaborate with the Managing Director, Programs Director and colleagues on
Business Development, search for funding opportunities and proposal writing.
- Implement communications aspects of organization’s fundraising strategy, including endof- year and other fundraising campaigns.
- Collaborate on conference sponsorship packages, outreach, and management.
- Manage communications during the planning, execution, and follow-up of organization audiences, Conferences, and other events, including event promotion,
knowledge capture during events, and reporting and dissemination after events.
- Provide additional event support as needed (domestic, international, or virtual.)
- Conduct outreach in-person and online to strengthen and share knowledge
and solicit for potential project proposals for the organization.
- Seek out and develop opportunities for increased partner engagement and support.
- Provide communications support to the organization in implementing their annual
work plans.
- Seek out new and creative ways to effectively reach organization’s network around the world via
media and other online platforms.
- Regularly update and maintain organization’s website with new and engaging content,
including news/announcements, new resources, events, job postings, project updates, new
members, and more.
- Work on more in-depth and longer-term website adjustments and improvements.
- Manage organization’s social media presence on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube,
ensuring active engagement on all accounts.
- Monitor website and social media statistics, developing and analyzing quarterly reports, and
providing recommendations to increase online traffic and engagement.
- Write and oversee the design of the organization's Annual Report.
- Publish the monthly e-newsletter, sharing out the latest news and projects from the organization.
- Create and update promotional materials, including one pager, brochures,
presentations, case stories, etc.
- Conduct interviews with organziation's board members and partners at events and through
field visits to develop new promotional materials, learning materials, case stories, etc.
through a variety of media.
- Write and distribute press releases as needed and maintain relationships with relevant
media reporters.
- Keep an inventory of all organziation's materials.
- Ensure that all print and online communications are consistent with organization messaging and
brand marketing.
- Coordinate with the Managing Director and the management, Project Managers to
maintain project’s webpage, promote resources, and find new and innovative ways
to share organization’s successes.
- Assist with communications efforts on key stakeholder’s flagship projects.
- Provide additional communications support for other projects as needed
Requirements
- Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in information and communication technology, public policy, economics, political science or social development.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Proven experience in working on communications, knowledge management and advocacy work is a must.
- Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages, good knowledge and experience in handling of web-based management systems.
- Experience in working in the area of community development projects with focus on environmental management and knowledge management preferable.
- Experience in a relevant Programme area will be an advantage, including management and coordination experience
- Solid knowledge and experience in knowledge sharing, including e-platforms and designing systems for government, international organizations or NGO.
- Ability to think and work logically and work precisely with attention to detail.
- Ability to write clearly and concisely.
- Initiative, sound judgment and demonstrated ability to work harmoniously with staff members of different national and cultural backgrounds.
- Knowledge of specialized software applied to evaluation, including IT knowledge to establish and maintain databases and tracking system.
- Demonstrable interest in communication, including evidence of uptake and use.
