Our client, an innovative company in the modular construction and industrial solutions industry, is seeking a Sales and Business Development Manager to lead strategic growth efforts and expand market presence across East Africa. The role involves driving sales performance, identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, and managing client relationships across multiple sectors, including real estate, humanitarian, education, and retail. The ideal candidate will combine strategic vision with hands-on execution, playing a key role in both external business development and internal process improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies aligned with the company’s offerings across modular infrastructure and commercial services.
- Identify high-value opportunities in sectors such as real estate, NGOs, retail, construction, education, and humanitarian aid.
- Prospect and convert leads through cold calling, fieldwork, and targeted outreach.
- Deliver and surpass sales and revenue targets within Tanzania and the broader East African market.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across industries and sectors.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with institutional clients, developers, NGOs, government bodies, EPC contractors, and commercial partners.
- Analyze market trends to inform growth strategies and identify niche opportunities.
- Manage the full sales lifecycle: lead generation, client engagement, proposal development, deal closing, and post-sale coordination.
- Respond to inquiries, resolve client concerns, and ensure exceptional customer service.
- Prepare pricing proposals and communicate value propositions effectively.
- Work with internal departments to ensure customer specifications and timelines are met.
- Collaborate with HR, production, finance, and marketing teams to align operations with business goals.
- Monitor and streamline basic operational processes to improve sales cycle efficiency.
- Identify operational bottlenecks and implement problem-solving measures.
- Conduct competitor analysis and monitor market developments.
- Generate and submit reports on sales performance, client engagement, and market trends to senior management.
- Provide strategic feedback to design and engineering teams to influence product innovation.
- Ensure compliance with industry laws, safety standards, and internal policies.
- Identify and mitigate business and operational risks proactively.
