Job Summary:
Our client is looking for a diligent and detail-oriented Storekeeper to oversee inventory management, including both new and second-hand solar products and tools. This role is vital in ensuring smooth operations and supporting the mission of delivering sustainable solar solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management: Oversee all incoming and outgoing stocks, including new and second-hand solar equipment and tools. Ensure accurate tracking and safe storage of all items.
- Stock Monitoring: Regularly monitor stock levels, anticipate supply needs, and coordinate timely replenishment to prevent shortages.
- Record Keeping: Maintain up-to-date records of inventory, including quantities, conditions, and locations. Utilize inventory management software for real-time tracking and reporting.
- Quality Control: Inspect incoming goods for quality and accuracy. Manage returns and exchanges of defective or incorrect items.
- Tool Management: Keep track of all tools issued to technicians, ensuring they are returned and stored properly after use. Schedule regular maintenance and replacement of tools as needed.
- Coordination with Departments: Collaborate with the procurement and technical teams to understand equipment needs and facilitate smooth operations.
- Reporting: Prepare regular reports on inventory levels, discrepancies, and other relevant metrics for management review.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure the storeroom adheres to safety standards and company policies. Manage waste and recycling of materials in an eco-friendly manner.
Requirements
- Minimum of a Diploma in Logistics, Automotive Mechanics, Procurement, or related field.
- Proven experience in store-keeping, inventory management, or workshop administration (automotive sector preferred).
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle mechanics is an advantage.
- Computer literacy (Excel/Word; inventory software is an added advantage).
- Honest, reliable, and detail-oriented.
- Fluent in Kiswahili; working knowledge of English preferred.
